What is capoeira?
Capoeira is a brazillian and african form of martial arts and dance. It is played
as a game between two people involving a variety of kicks, dodges, flips, acrobatics, and attacks.
Capoeira is played to music, which is an essential part of the art form. The game is played to the rythm of the
music played on a berimbau while the rest of the capoeiristas clap allong to the beat in a circle
around the game. It is a fantastic way to have fun and work out parts of your body that you don't even
know about yet. It's something that you just have to see for yourself, so please stop by and join in
a practice.
